Rap without Borders - Worldwide Hip-Hop

..."The 'hood doesn't necessarily have to be in the United States or anywhere else in North America. Rap is huge in most parts of the world, and there are hip-hop scenes in places that range from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Tokyo, Japan to Johannesburg, South Africa. There are rappers in Mozambique; there are rappers in the Philippines and different parts of India (where numerous Indian pop singers have incorporated hip-hop elements). The main focus of this essay, however, is European rap, and that could be anything from an Irish MC in Dublin to a German rapper in Munich (which the English-language section of a German hip-hop website calls "Muthaphukkin' Money Makin' Munich"). When a European rapper talks about life in the 'hood, he/she could be talking about Venice, Italy - or perhaps the 'hood could be in Stockholm, Sweden or Barcelona, Spain. From Scandinavia to Portugal, hip-hop has been huge in Europe since the '80s"...

Jair Dynast can be classified as a rapper that knows no borders. He has lived on two continents, in two countries, on an island and in several cosmopolitan cities. This is what makes Jair a unique emcee that is versatile, willing to push boundaries, speaks to his fans on so many different levels and at the same time, gain respect and admiration from his peers.

No wonder then that his album was described as "ambitious" and "worth hunting down" in a review done in German by hiphop.ch. Jair Dynast is definitely a rapper with international appeal. Hip-hop has been improving for quite some time, and it’s steadily on an up-spiral. More artists are holding themselves accountable for what they have to say and offer, and they are consequently putting our more socially conscious music that not only feeds their fanbase in the streets, but also teaches the youth who are also listening closely.

Jair Dynast is definitely among the handful of newer artists that are out to gain something more than a pocket full of money and a few screaming fans. His debut, “V.I.A.L.E.N.C.E”, is sure to strike a chord with many hip-hop fans. Just release less than a month ago, he’s already impacting the lives of many who have had the chance to cop it.
